Doctor Marian Shelby is a therapist hired by A.J. Lee to provide therapy for Kane and Daniel Bryan via an anger management group. The group also included Harold, Terry and Tina. He teaches an alternative to anger by making it an acronym of adjectives:
- Affable
- Nice
- Gleeful
- Ecstatic
- Reasonable
He was partially responsible for forming them into the tag team Team Friendship that then went on to win the Tag Team Championship. Afterward, continued to put them through therapy sessions (such as having Kane eat lettuce, or Daniel eat meatballs).
He was not part of the decision to rename them Team Hell No, and the pair also seemed perturbed by this choice.
Doctor Shelby returned on the July 2, 2018 episode of Raw to help Bayley and Sasha Banks in their mandatory counseling ordered by then Raw General manager Kurt Angle.
