Denzel Dejournette is an American former amateur and current professional wrestler previously signed with World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) on the NXT brand under the ring name Desmond Troy.
Early life[]
Dejournette was born in a family of three to parents Laverne and Benjamin Foster. A native of Winston Salem, North Carolina, Dejournette graduated from R.J. Reynolds High School. An amateur wrestler, Dejournette finished high school with a 27-8 win-loss record, before attending Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina, where he placed 8th in the 2017 NCAA Championship Heavyweight Division. While in college, Dejournette competed on the Appalachia State Mountaineers wrestling team. He qualified three times for the NCAA Championships and compiled a 113-35 win-loss record.

It was reported in July 2018, the WWE signed a total of nine new recruits. Among them, Dejournette was signed to begin training at the WWE Performance Center.
NXT (2018-2021)[]
Dejournette debuted in 2018 as early as October 27, during an NXT live event, competing in a Halloween-styled Number One Contender Battle Royal match for the NXT North American Championship. The following month, Dejournette returned for the November 29 live event where he competed in a 12-Man Number One Contender Battle Royal for the NXT Championship. The following month, Dejournette wrestled his first singles match during the December 7 live event, losing to Wesley Blake.
Dejournette made his television debut in 2020 on the May 6 episode of NXT during which he lost a singles match against Cameron Grimes. On the September 16 episode of NXT, he debuted under the new name Desmond Troy in a match won by Tommaso Ciampa. He finished the year with a match during the December 16 episode of NXT, losing to Karrion Kross.
Troy's final television appearance was on the July 2 episode of 205 Live during which he participated in a NXT Breakout Tournament Qualifying match, losing to Joe Gacy. He was released the following month on August 6, 2021.
Main roster debut / RAW and SmackDown (2020)[]
Dejournette debuted on the April 6 episode of Monday Night RAW, in a match lost to Seth Rollins. A week later, Dejournette debuted on the April 17 episode of SmackDown Live, losing a match to Sheamus. Ten days later he returned to RAW on the April 27 episode, losing a match to Bobby Lashley.
EVOLVE Wrestling (2020)[]
Due to WWE's business relationship with EVOLVE, Dejournette made his debut on January 17 at EVOLVE 143, losing a match against Adrian Alanis. He returned the following night at EVOLVE 144 in a match won by Joe Gacy. After a loss at EVOLVE 145 against Harlem Bravado, Dejournette won his first Evolve match at EVOLVE 146, teaming with Jon Davis in a tag match defeating team Skulk members Adrian Alanis & Liam Gray.
Personal life[]
Dejournette has two sisters named Laquasha and Latina Foster. Although training in professional wrestling, Dejournette still attends Appalachian State University, intending to earn a master's degree in Exercise Science. He majored in pharmacy with a minor in business.
