Elayna Black (January 14, 2001) is an American professional wrestler currently signed to World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) on its NXT brand under the ring name Cora Jade.
Professional wrestling career[]
Early career (2018–2019)[]
Black first trained at the Freelance Wrestling Academy by Bryce Benjamin and Isaias Velazquez. An Illinois native, Black debuted on December 9, 2018 in the Illinois-based Kaiju Attack Wrestling promotion in a tag match against her former instructor Bryce Benjamin. She went on to wrestle throughout the following year, becoming a frequent talent in Freelance Wrestling. On July 11, 2019, Black won her first tournament while in ZOWA Live, becoming the 2019 Zen Of Womens Athletics Tournament Champion. On August 15 while in Zelo Pro Wrestling, Black competed in a four-way match for the vacant Zelo Pro Women's Championship. On September 1 Black competed in RISE Wrestling's 2019 Regional Rising Stars Tournament where she was eliminated in the quarter final by Sophie King. She also appeared in SHIMMER Women Athletes, debuting in SHIMMER Women Athletes Volume 118 competing in a scramble match against notable names as Shazza McKenzie, Cheerleader Melissa, Kris Statlander, Nevaeh and Skylar.
Impact Wrestling (2019)[]
Black made her first-ever pay-per-view debut while in iMPACT! Wrestling at Prelude To Glory, where she lost to Havok.
All Elite Wrestling (2020)[]
Black first appeared in 2020 on the October 13 episode of AEW Dark losing to Red Velvet. She returned the following month on the November 3 episode of AEW Dark, teaming with Leyla Hirsch in a tag match lost to Brandi Rhodes & Red Velvet.
World Wrestling Entertainment (2021–present)[]
It was announced on January 20, 2021 Black was one of three female wrestlers including Lacey Ryan and Priscilla Kelly signed to developmental contracts with WWE. Quickly renamed Cora Jade, she debuted on the January 22 episode of 205 Live. On that episode she teamed with Gigi Dolan in the opening round of the 2021 Women's Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic where they were eliminated by Candice LeRae & Indi Hartwell.
NXT (2021–present)[]
Jade made her television debut on the February 10 episode of NXT, losing to Xia Li. Three months later, Jade returned to television on the May 25 episode NXT where she lost a match against Franky Monet. Afterwards, Jade defeated Monet in a rematch held on the October 5 episode of NXT.
