Catch 22 is a professional wrestling tag team consisting of Francesco Akira and TJP in New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW). The team is part of United Empire.
History[]
Soon after Francesco Akira joined United Empire, he would begin teaming with fellow United Empire member TJP. At Best Of The Super Junior 29 - Night 13, Akira and TJP would defeat IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champions Six Or Nine (Master Wato and Ryusuke Taguchi) in a non-title match. Having earned a title opportunity, Akira and TJP defeated Six Or Nine to win the championship at New Japan Road 2022 - Night 4. At Burning Spirit 2022 - Night 14, Akira and TJP defeated Six Or Nine again in a championship rematch. Dubbing themselves "Catch 22", Akira and TJP made their next IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship defence at Battle Autumn 2022 - Night 16, defeating BUSHI and Titán of Los Ingobernables de Japón.
