Breaking Point 2009 was a professional wrestling pay-per-view (PPV) event produced by World Wrestling Entertainment, which took place on September 13, 2009 at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It was the first time the WWE staged this event. During this event all major matches were held under Submission rules.
Results
- Dark Match: Evan Bourne defeated Chavo Guerrero.
- Chris Jericho & The Big Show defeated Montel Vontavious Porter & Mark Henry to retain the Unified WWE Tag Team Championship.
- Jericho pinned Henry after a Right Hook from Big Show.
- Kofi Kingston defeated The Miz to retain The WWE United States Championship.
- Kingston pinned Miz after a Trouble in Paradise.
- The Legacy (Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase) defeated D-Generation X (Triple H & Shawn Michaels) in a Submissions Count Anywhere match.
- Legacy forced Michaels to submit with a Figure Four Leglock around the ring post from Rhodes and a Million Dollar Dream from DiBiase.
- Kane defeated The Great Khali (with Ranjin Singh) in a Singapore Cane match.
- Kane pinned Khali after a Chokeslam.
- Christian defeated William Regal to retain the ECW Championship.
- Christian pinned Regal after a Killswitch.
- Ezekiel Jackson & Vladimir Kozlov were both banded from ringside by order of Tiffany.
- John Cena defeated Randy Orton in an "I Quit" match to win the WWE Championship.
- Cena forced Orton to quit with an STF.
- CM Punk defeated The Undertaker in a Submission Match to retain the World Heavyweight Championship.
- Punk "forced" Undertaker to submit with an Anaconda Vise.
- Undertaker originally won by forcing Punk to submit with the Hell's Gate, but Theodore Long came out and said the move was banned and restarted the match.
- The Undertaker never submitted to Punk, but the referee called for the bell anyway.
