Bound for Glory XVIII was a professional wrestling pay-per-view (PPV) event produced by Impact Wrestling. It took place on October 7, 2022 at the Washington Avenue Armory in Albany, New York. It was the eighteenth event in the Bound for Glory chronology.

Background[]

The inaugural Bound for Glory event was produced by Impact Wrestling, then known as Total Nonstop Action Wrestling, on October 23, 2005. Bound for Glory continued as an annual event for Impact Wrestling, taking place predominately in October. On August 4, 2022, Impact Wrestling announced that the eighteenth Bound for Glory event would take place on October 7 at the Washington Avenue Armory in Albany, New York.

Storylines[]

On September 28, 2022, Impact Wrestling announced that the Call Your Shot Gauntlet Match, a match that has been held at Bound for Glory since 2019, would take place at the 2022 Bound for Glory event. The victor receives a trophy and a contract allowing them to challenge for a championship of their choosing.

At Victory Road, Mickie James defeated Gisele Shaw to continue her "Last Rodeo", a stipulation where if James lost a match, she would retire. James, impressed by Mia Yim's performance in the Triple Threat Revolver Match at Victory Road, challenged Yim to a match at Bound for Glory. Yim accepted, making the match official.

At Victory Road, Frankie Kazarian won a Triple Threat Revolver Match to become the #1 Contender for the Impact X Division Championship. Also at Victory Road, Mike Bailey successfully defended the X Division Championship against Delirious, setting up a match between Kazarian and Bailey for the X Division Championship at Bound for Glory.

At Emergence, VXT (Deonna Purrazzo and Chelsea Green) won the Impact Knockouts Tag Team Championship from Rosemary and Taya Valkyrie after Rosemary inadvertently misted Valkyrie. At Victory Road, Rosemary, Valkyrie, and JesSICKa approached Knockouts Division Executive Gail Kim, requesting a rematch with VSK. VSK interrupted, leading to JesSICKa fending off Purrazzo and Green. As a result, Gail Kim granted a rematch, with Valkyrie and JesSICKa being set to challenge VSK.

On the September 15, 2022 episode of iMPACT!, The Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin) defeated The Good Brothers (Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson) to earn a match against NJPW STRONG Openweight Tag Team Champions Aussie Open (Kyle Fletcher and Mark Davis). The following week, The Motor City Machine Guns defeated Aussie Open to receive an Impact World Tag Team Championship match against Matt Taven and Mike Bennett of Honor No More at Bound for Glory.

After Jordynne Grace successfully defended the Impact Knockouts Championship against Mia Yim at Emergence, Grace was confronted by Masha Slamovich, who handed Grace a "death warrant", a photo of Grace crossed out with blood. On the September 1, 2022 episode of iMPACT!, Slamovich defeated Deonna Purrazzo in order to earn a championship match against Jordynne Grace at Bound for Glory.

On the August 18, 2022 episode of iMPACT!, Honor No More leader Eddie Edwards won a Six Way Elimination Match in order to earn a match against Impact World Champion Josh Alexander at Bound for Glory.
