Career[]
Powerlifter and Bodybuilder Jean Kirkland was trained by the The Fabulous Moolah in South Carolina.
World Wrestling Federation[]
The rookie Venus wrestled in the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) under the name Jean Kirkland. Her WWF highlights were when she teamed with ring legend, Leilani Kai against the Japanese team The Crush Girls and challenging, then champion The Fabulous Moolah for the WWF Women's Championship. Jean Kirkland also toured All Japan Women's Pro-Wrestling and later Japan Women's Pro Wrestling.
Indies[]
Kirkland split with The Fabulous Moolah's management company in 1987 and began to wrestle independently throughout the Northeast for companies like International Wrestling Federation, New England Wrestling Federation and the National Wrestling Federation.
Ladies Professional Wrestling Association[]
Venus and her partner Bad Girl wrestled in Ladies Professional Wrestling Association as Bad, Black & Beautiful with manager Boogaloo Brown where they reached the finals of the LPWA World Tag team tournament only to lose to Misty Blue and Heidi Lee Morgan.
Towards the end of their tenure with the company they became crown favorites and feuded with Glamour Girls and their manager Christopher Love.
Black Venus had a supporting role in the wrestling movie, American Angels that starred Magnificent Mimi.
Venus passed away September 30, 1995.
