The August 9, 1999 Edition of WCW Monday Nitro was held in the Idaho Center in Boise, Idaho.

  • After the bout, Brandi Alexander attempted to attack Mona but she quickly sent Alexander to the floor.
  • Prior to the match, referee Nick Patrick came out and sent referee Charles Robinson, who came out to officiate the bout.
  • Backstage; during the early moments of the contest, Flair attempted to get himself counted-out, only for Shane Douglas, Dean Malenko, & Perry Saturn to come out and throw him back into the ring.
  • Douglas, Malenko, & Saturn remained ringside for the rest of the match.
  • During the closing of the match, WCW Tag Team Champion Chris Kanyon ran out but was blocked in the aisle by Douglas, Malenko, & Saturn, with WCW Tag Team Champion Diamond Dallas Page then attacking Benoit in the ring until he was chased off.
  • After the contest, The Revolution celebrated in the ring as Page & Kanyon watched from the aisle.
  • Benoit then took the mic and challenged Page to a No DQ match at Road Wild for the title.
  • Flair didn't land one offensive move in the bout
  • (Hogan's return to the red and yellow outfit and return of his "American Made" theme music after three years)
