Ashikaga is a city located in Tochigi Prefecture, Japan. It is 80 km north of Tokyo. The city was founded on January 1, 1921.
As of April 1, 2011, the city has an estimated population of 153,766, with 59,219 households and a population density of 864.73 persons per km². The total area is 177.82 km².
