American Top Team is a professional wrestling stable composed of leader Dan Lambert along with various American Top Team (ATT) mixed martial arts fighters and professional wrestlers.

History[]

Impact Wrestling (2017-2018)[]

Dan Lambert's MMA gym, American Top Team (ATT), first appeared in professional wrestling at Slammiversary XV, where Lambert, Muhammed Lawal (known as King Mo), and Jeff Monson accompanied Bobby Lashley to the ring in his loss against Alberto El Patron. American Top Team returned to Impact, now renamed Global Force Wrestling (GFW), on the August 3, 2017 episode of iMPACT!, appearing in a vignette that showed Lashley training with them. American Top Team would once again accompany Lashley at Destination X 2017, where Lashley would be defeated by Matt Sydal. However, following the match, ATT member Colby Covington attacked the referee, but was stopped by Lashley.

On the August 24, 2017 episode of iMPACT!, Lashley would begin a feud with Moose after Moose eliminated Lashley in a gauntlet match for the GFW Global Championship. On the October 12, 2017 episode of iMPACT!, Moose would join forces with former MMA fighter Stephan Bonnar, stealing American Top Team's championships from their trophy case. Next week on the October 19, 2017 episode of iMPACT!, Dan Lambert would boast his collection of historic wrestling championships, before Moose and Bonnar would appear with the championships they stole, leading to ATT attacking them. Moose would defeat Lashley on the October 26, 2017 episode of iMPACT! by disqualification after Lambert attacked Moose, before Lashley partnered with King Mo to defeat Moose & Bonnar at Bound for Glory XIII in a Six Sides Of Steel Match.

Following Bound for Glory, Lashley would begin becoming frustrated with Lambert as he acted more comedic. On the December 7, 2017 episode of iMPACT!, Lambert would score a pinfall over James Storm following a Spear from Lashley, during a tag team match where Lashley & Lambert faced Storm & Moose. On the December 14, 2017 episode of iMPACT!, Lambert and Storm agreed to a match where if Lambert won, Storm would leave Impact, which was rebranded back from Global Force Wrestling in September, while if Storm won, ATT would leave Impact instead. Lambert and Storm would have their match on the January 4, 2018 episode of iMPACT!, with Lambert coming out victorious due to interference from KM and ATT. At Genesis 2018, Lashley was defeated by Moose following a distraction from KM. Following the match, Lashley would turn face after spearing Lambert through a table.

Major League Wrestling (2020-2021)[]

Following American Top Team's departure from Impact, Dan Lambert's gym would return to professional wrestling on the February 22, 2020 episode of MLW Fusion, where King Mo defeated Dr. Dax. Mo would begin feuding with Low Ki, becoming an ally of Team Filthy, before defeating Low Ki on the March 28, 2020 episode of MLW Fusion after Lambert threw in Low Ki's towel while the referee was distracted. However, King Mo, due to smashing a pipe over Killer Kross on the March 21, 2020 episode of MLW Fusion, was suspended and fined in kayfabe. Despite his suspension, King Mo would continue his feud with Low Ki via YouTube promos. After Lambert and King Mo returned, Low Ki defeated King Mo by submission in their rematch on the February 17, 2021 episode of MLW Fusion.

All Elite Wrestling (2021-2022)[]

American Top Team made their debut in All Elite Wrestling (AEW) in the crowd at AEW Dynamite Road Rager. Tony Schiavone attempted to interview ATT during the show, but Lambert took the microphone, complaining about the current quality of wrestling, before he was attacked by Lance Archer. Lambert would continue to voice his disapproval of AEW, before aligning with Ethan Page and Scorpio Sky on the August 18, 2021 episode of Dynamite, after Page and Sky attacked Lance Archer. Lambert, along with ATT, now including Paige VanZant, accepted a challenge from Chris Jericho and Jake Hager to face Ethan Page and Scorpio Sky. Page & Sky defeated Jericho & Hager on the September 24, 2021 episode of Rampage, after Lambert tripped Hager.

On the October 15, 2021 episode of Rampage, Junior dos Santos made his professional wrestling debut, partnering with Page & Sky to defeat Jericho, Hager, and Sammy Guevara following a distraction from VanZant and a running knee from Jorge Masvidal. On the October 23, 2021 episode of Dynamite, Lambert accepted Jericho's request from the week before for a ten man tag team match if Guevara defended the AEW TNT Championship against Page, while also adding the stipulation that if Page wins, Guevara must leave The Inner Circle, but if Page loses, The Inner Circle can choose which ATT members to face at Full Gear 2021. On the October 27, 2021 episode of Dynamite, Sammy Guevara defeated Page to retain the TNT Championship and remain in The Inner Circle. The Inner Circle chose the ATT members they would face at Full Gear on the November 3, 2021 episode of Dynamite, picking Junior dos Santos, Andrei Arlovski, and Dan Lambert himself. At Full Gear, The Inner Circle would defeat Page, Sky, and ATT in a Minneapolis Street Fight.

On the December 17, 2021 episode of Rampage, Lambert returned, leading to Cody Rhodes attacking Page & Sky, before Guevara came out to make the save. After Lambert also aligned himself with Lance Archer and Jake Roberts before Archer's unsuccessful attempt to win the AEW World Championship from Adam Page, Scorpio Sky would win the TNT Championship from Sammy Guevara on the March 9, 2022 episode of Dynamite, after the champion was distracted.
