The AEW Continental Championship was a professional wrestling championship in All Elite Wrestling (AEW).
History[]
On November 11, 2023, All Elite Wrestling owner Tony Khan and AEW talent Bryan Danielson announced the introduction of a brand new round robin tournament known as the, AEW Continental Classic. The winner of the tournament would go on to become the inaugural AEW Continental Champion. The winner of the tournament would also be declared an American Triple Crown Champion, with Eddie Kingston putting both the ROH World Championship and NJPW STRONG Openweight Championship on the line for the entire tournament.
Eddie Kingston would go on to face Jon Moxley in the finals of the tournament at AEW Worlds End 2023 to become the inaugural AEW Continental Champion.
On June 11, 2025 at AEW Summer Blockbuster 2025 a contract signing took place between then AEW Continental Champion Kazuchika Okada and then AEW International Champion Kenny Omega for a match in which the championships would be unified at All In and the winner would be the first AEW Unified Champion.
