Hideo Itami's luck hasn't been in a bright spot over the last couple of years, as he has been on the injured list for extended periods. The career speedbump, however, has not held down the desire inside Itami to be the very best in NXT. Prior to coming to WWE, Itami was highly regarded as being one of the best Superstars on the international scene, both in his native Japan and in other countries he toured. His previous forays in the United States included battles with a variety of future WWE Superstars, including Daniel Bryan, Samoa Joe, Seth Rollins and Austin Aries, often coming out on top in these confrontations.
