This is a list of various things that took place in 1937.
- 29: Lou Thesz wins his first world heavyweight championship, defeating Everett Marshall for the vacant World Heavyweight Championship (the American Wrestling Association's Boston version) in St. Louis, Missouri. At age 21, he becomes the youngest man to that time to win a world championship. It will be the first of several runs where, over the next 28 years, he is recognized as a world champion, with those reigns spanning from prior to World War II to well into the Vietnam War-era (when his final world championship run ended in January 1966).

- 13 - John Pesek wins the vacant World Heavyweight Championship (National Wrestling Association) after he is only contender able to post a $1000 bond. His recognition as champion is later withdrawn.
- 29 - Lou Thesz wins the vacant World Heavyweight Championship (National Wrestling Association), though it's unknown whether or not the NBA/NWA recognizes this reign.
