Survivor Series (2009)

Survivor Series (2009) foi um evento pay-per-view realizado pela World Wrestling Entertainment, ocorreu no dia 22 de novembro de 2009 no Verizon Center na capital americana Washington, D.C.^[1]. Contou com lutadores da Raw, SmackDown e ECW. O evento foi marcado pela volta do tradicional "Survivor Series elimination match". Esta foi a 23ª edição da cronologia do Survivor Series.

Antes do evento

Na edição da Raw do dia 26 de outubro foi anunciado a primeira luta para o evento os Guest Hosts da noite: Kyle Busch e Joey Logano anunciaram que o WWE Champion John Cena defenderia seu título contra Shawn Michaels e Triple H em uma Triple Threat match. Big Show justificou sua traição ocorrida no Bragging Rights como uma troca de favores entre ele e o general-manager da SmackDown Theodore Long, que teria prometido a ele o direito de ser o desafiante número um de The Undertaker pelo World Heavyweight Championship. Na edição da SmackDown gravada dia 27 de outubro e que foi ao ar no dia 30, o general-manager deu os parabéns a Chris Jericho pela vitória da brand no Bragging Rights, Jericho disse a Long que a promessa de uma luta a Big Show pelo World Heavyweight Championship era uma piada e que a brand azul havia vencido pelo seu talento e não pela ajuda de Show. Kane venho ao ringue e ia aplicar um Chokeslam em Jericho quando Long disse que ele não deveria fazer isto, pois não seria somente a Raw que teria uma Triple threat match, que isto também ocorreria na SmackDown; determinou que Jericho e Kane se enfrentariam no main-event da noite e que o vencedor se juntaria a The Undertaker e Big Show na disputa pelo título. Jericho venceu Kane e garantiu um lugar no combate. Na edição da SmackDown gravada em 3 de novembro e que foi ao ar no dia 6 foi anunciado que Batista lutaria contra Rey Mysterio, dando continuidade a feud entre os dois que teve início no Bragging Rights. No dia 9 de novembro a WWE anunciou através de seu site três combate no tradicional formato Survivor Series Elimination match, Team Kingston contra Team Orton, Team Morrison contra Team Miz e Team Mickie contra Team Michelle.

O evento

Na primeira luta da noite Team Miz venceu Team Morrison os sobreviventes foram The Miz, Drew McIntyre e Sheamus. Batista derrotou Rey Mysterio. Batista venceu após três "Batista Bomb", o árbitro percebeu que Mysterio não respondia e mandou tocar a campainha. Após a luta Batista ainda aplicou um "spinebuster" em Mysterio sobre uma cadeira de aço. Team Kingston derrotou Tema Orton, sobrevivente Kofi Kingston. No quarto combate da noite o World Heavyweight Champion The Undertaker derrotou The Big Show e Chris Jericho para manter seu título, Undertaker fez Big Show desistir aplicando o "Hell's Gate". Team Mickie derrotou Team Michelle, sobreviventes Mickie James e Melina. No evento principal o WWE Champion John Cena derrotou Shawn Michaels e Triple H, Cena fez o pin em Michaels com o Attitude Adjustment aplicado sobre Triple H caido.
